The AW 55-50SN transmission has many problems and one of the chief is with its bushings. The planetary bushing fails most often and we are seeing stator and sun gear bushings spinning out also.
We have made a one piece rear sun gear bushing, pictured at left with hole, to replace two small bushings. Our one piece bushing has greater holding power.
The one piece planetary bushing is not included in the bushing kit. It must be purchased separately.
There are two size input shafts, therefor two different size bushing I.D.s The larger shaft is .873 in diameter and the small is .843. The kit for the larger shaft is part # 31500 and the small shaft takes kit # 44500.
The 4-5 clutch drum bushing is the only one that appears to be relatively trouble free. The bushing and sleeve that go into this drum come separately in kit number 31502.
